More than 2,500 people came out to support the event which featured NZ top reggae bands Katchafire, House of Shem and 1814. It was a huge success for the region and led to the team who organised and put on the Kolohe Kai NZ and Australian tours, the Rebel Souljahz NZ Tours in 2011 and Exodus.

This tour was a huge success and was attended by 15,000 people. In Auckland the band did two shows, a Family Show show during the day and R18 show in the evening.

Big ups to the awesome support acts 1814 and Sons of Zion and Niu FM who ran and organised the Auckland Family Show.

SHELTER FOR THE GA BAR AREA
We have now put in five large marquee shelters in the GA Bar for people in this area.

SHELTER FOR THE VIP AREA
The VIP area has two extra large marquees in it to protect from the sun and rain.  The bar will now be situated inside one of the tents and the separate food stalls will still be operating as normal.

“GAZEBO ZONE” AT THE FESTIVAL
There is a zone that will be available to those wishing to bring your own Gazebo or beach shade.  You can bring in a Gazebo that is up to 3m x 3m in size.  None larger than that please as we want to make sure we can get as many shelters in as possible.  The ‘Gazebo Zone’ is to the side of the stage and will be marked out.  You cannot set up your gazebo in front of the stage as this.  Space is limited so be in first to get the best position inside the zone.  We cannot guarantee that you will see the stage from your gazebo however I can guarantee that you will see everything if you are standing with everyone else at the front!

BAG DROP OFF STALL
We have organised a space that we can use as a bag drop off area where the retail, arts and food stalls are.  The cost will be $2 per item.  This space is VERY limited so once its full, its full!  We will do our best though to offer this service to as many people that need it.

GUMBOOTS, UMBRELLAS, JACKETS
Dress appropriate please whanau!  Although the forecast is for some rain its also supposed to be hot!  High heels probably not the smartest thing to wear.  Bring some wet weather gear; umbrellas, gumboots, jackets and the like is all good.

PONCHOS
We have managed to get 200 ponchos which will be on sale at the Stalls area.

Kia ora whanau

Aroha mai for the unexpected newsletter.  I just wanted to touch base with as many people as possible to let you all know what we are doing for Exodus with the current weather forecast.  So here goes….

FORECAST:
The forecast is for rain on the day – plain and simple.  It will be warm though, 23 degrees is the expected high with rain during the day.  I just want to let you all know that EXODUS 2012 will still be going ahead rain or shine.  All the bands are pumped to perform and lucky for us, Reggae fans are pretty tough and don’t let a bit of rain stop us!

For the last couple of days we have been running round tying everything down so that everyone can have a mean time, rain or shine!  Heres some info to bring you all up to speed, and please pass this message on to anyone you know coming to the festival.

Otherwise all pre-sales are $80 from Eventfinder and from all Ticketek outlets.

Well, one more week to go till we kick off New Years Eve Reggae Styles!!  Really looking forward to kicking 2012 off with some of the best Aotearoa Roots Reggae Bands.  I hope you guys are getting amped too!

For those of you who are coming into the Tauranga region early, we will be having a “Countdown to Exodus” Party at the Colosseum Bar on Harrington Street on Thursday 29th December.  We will have a bunch of giveaways, drinks specials and we’ll start the ball rolling for what will be an awesome New Years.  Special Guests and Mean DJs all night!!  Only $2 entry. $5 drink specials all night.

Download your Exodus Info Pack and have a mean New Years celebration!

Only 10 days till Xmas so hope everyone is gearing up for an awesome holiday period.  As always heres a little bit more info about Exodus and whats happening behind the scenes, so you are better prepared for the festival.

FESTIVAL MONEY
Some people maybe familiar with the system of using ‘festival money’ at festivals or concerts.  If you aren’t, its where you exchange your money for tokens (or coupons) to purchase items.  This is the system that we will be using at EXODUS and it is a tried and proven system that reduces waiting times in cues when getting your drinks, food or merchandise.  Each token will be worth $2.  You can get as many tokens as you like at any one time from our BANK onsite.  There will be EFTPOS machines with Credit Card access which means that we can exchange Cash, Credit Card, EFTPOS, Debit Card into ‘Festival Money’ on the day.

FEES:
There are no transaction fees in exchanging cash for coupons.  We encourage as many people as possible to bring cash to the festival so you don’t get charged a fee for transferring your money over.  If you are using EFTPOS, Debit Card, or Credit Card, there is a $2 transaction fee for EACH transaction.  If you don’t like the charges make sure to bring cash, or make as fewer transactions as possible.

AFTER THE FESTIVAL:
You can exchange your ‘Festival Money’ at ANY time for cash at the Bank,  The Bank will be open till 2:00am on the festival night.  If you find coupons after the Festival has finished, you can exchange your ‘Festival Money’ for cash at Brewers Bar Super Liquor, 107 Newton Street, Mt Maunganui UNTIL the end of business hours on Saturday 7th January 2012.

BAR MENU
I know a lot of people want to know about the bar menu and costs for drinks on the day.  So here it is…..

AFTER HOURS
We understand that when the festival finishes at 1:30am that there may be a bit of a wait for some people to leave the venue.  In order to look after you AFTER the event, we are setting up an After Hours Stall service to provide food, non-alcoholic drinks, coffee, toilets, lights and security on the OUTSIDE of the festival site close to the bus area.  No alcohol will be permitted in this area.  This service is available to anyone who:

• wants to wait till traffic has reduced
• is waiting for the buses to return so they can go home
• people who feel that they may need to wait before safely getting behind the wheel.

NEXT NEWSLETTER
Next week we will be releasing Information Packs out to the public summarising everything I have sent out over the past 3 Newsletters as well as new information.  This will be be a downloadable printable document so you will have all the info you need.   The info pack will also include all arts and crafts, food stalls and merchandise stalls we will have onsite too.

Hope everyone is doing well out there and getting some beautiful sunshine! Following on from last weeks Newsletter, here is some more information about the upcoming New Years:

MERCHANDISE
As promised last week, we are offering $25.00ea presales for our Exodus TShirts which will be available at the festival. The shirts will sell at the festival for $30.00ea.

These presales shirts will only be available to people attending the festival as you will need to be pick these up from the Exodus Merchandise Stall inside the festival site. Please include size, quantity, design, and colour you want.

TICKETS
The tickets to the festival are selling great so we would encourage those who have not yet purchased a ticket to do so before its too late!! This is some of the cheapest and best entertainment for any New Years Event you will get! Tickets are limited and available online from Eventfinder and at all Ticketek Outlets.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT
We have contracted Bayline Buses who will be providing Public Transport to Exodus on the 31st December. These buses will be doing pick up and drop offs to key places within the Tauranga, Mt Maungnui and Papamoa regions. AFTER HOURS
