New Zealand’s biggest Reggae New Years Party is Back! EXODUS will once again host the best and brightest names in Aotearoa Reggae at Te Tumu Kaituna Reserve, Papamoa Beach. This years show has grown to include 2 stages, 19 bands, 6 DJ’s and 13 hours to farewell 2012, and bring in 2013!

This years line up includes the legendary Herbs, a true household name in New Zealand music making their first appearance at Exodus. Other first timers include Australian based Aotearoa reggae band Paua making a rare trip home to perform. Raglan’s own Cornerstone Roots will be spreading conscious messages on the day as well as reggae pioneer, David Grace and Injustice, who’s song ‘Rua Kenana’ is a huge hit around the Pacific.

Returning to Exodus is some of our most loved Reggae Acts in New Zealand including Katchafire, showing why they are a force in the International scene, along with 1814 who are always crowd favourites. South Auckland reggae kings Three Houses Down and Wellingtons Tomorrow People will be there bringing the best in Island reggae, along with the awesome talents of Sons Of Zion, Foundation and NRG Rising.

Rounding out the line up we have some the best and brightest new stars in Reggae music. We know there are many up and coming acts and picking only a few was extremely difficult!! This year we are proud to showcase the female vocal talents of Majic Pāora, along with Wairere Ropata who fronts four peice band Āio. Wellington band Brown Hill, who has recorded with Fiji and backed International Artists J Boog and Spawnbreezie will be there, along with Tasty Brown who recently released their debut album ‘Kitchen’. Rounding out the upcoming bands, its an all family affair with the Pirihi brothers; Tribal Conexionz, and the sweet sounds of family band Sweet Echo from Tauranga and Tokoroa.

Very soon we will be holding a competition for Bands to be the Opening Act at Exodus! This is a huge opportunity for all reggae bands out there to showcase their music. Winners will be decided by public vote because we all want to hear the next new band to blow us away! Competition details will be released soon.

We’re keeping the party going throughout the day with DJs playing on both stages during all band changeovers. Its gonna be a huge reggae party not to be missed, so from all the team here at Reggae By Nature, Nau mai, Haere mai ki Papamoa this New Years Eve!

Make sure you bring all necessary items you will need at Exodus including:

> IMPORTANT STUFF. Concert ticket, ID, money, bank card, (legal) medication, a charged mobile phone.

> MEDICINES. If you have any medical conditions that we need to be aware of (ie epilepsy, diabetes, asthma) be sure to carry specific information & an emergency contact number on you at all times.

> ALCOHOL. This isn’t a BYO, so NO alcohol will be permitted in the venue. Any alcohol found while entering the premise will be confiscated. There will be bars selling alcoholic & non alcoholic drinks inside the venue site, so make sure you have your ID.
If you’re deemed to be too wasted when entering the bar, you are going to be refused entry. Get a feed, get you some water (free water stations on site) and sober up a little. This means you’ll enjoy yourself more and you’ll actually remember your New years Eve.

> WATER. All good to bring in unopened or empty bottle of water (no glass). No food is allowed to be brought in as we will have a number of awesome food stalls onsite. There will be free water stations on site available for refills.

> DRESS FOR THE WEATHER. In 2011 we had storms and most people dressed appropriately. For those few girls that wore high heels in the mud, swap them for some gumboots or go barefeet if the forecast is for rain. Otherwise bring some sunscreen. Remember to bring some warm clothes for later on too. Make sure you wear sensible shoes.

> DRUGS, if you didn’t know its illegal to be in possession of it or to be smoking it. Anyone caught holding or dealing in ANY illegal substances will be treated the same way as anywhere else, by Security and possibly the Police.

Gang Colours or Insignia
Anyone wearing ‘Colours’ or ‘Insignia’ identifying them as belonging to a known gang or other groups as designated by the Police, is prohibited from entering the venue. This includes jackets, t-shirts, scarves, waistcoats, caps, patches, No chains or motorbike helmets etc.

Security
While you are at Exodus, you will be required to abide by any reasonable request or command from our Security guards. Our security is there to keep you and everyone safe. If you need help or see someone needing help, please notify our security team straight away.

Safety and Care for others
Make sure to look after one another on the day. Exodus is a peaceful reggae event so nothing but One Love vibes please.

If you require medical attention, we will have certified medical personnel onsite along with ambulances if you need it in the medical area. The medical area will be situated on the hill next to the info area.

Info and Lost Property
The Info tent is situated at the top of the hill. If you find or lose any gear, this is where you’ll want to go to in the first instance.

After the event if you have lost anything either email us at info@reggaebynature.com and we will try our best to get your stuff back to you. We get lots of lost property every year so be sure to check in with us as soon as you can.

Emergency Evacuation
If worse comes to worse and we need to vacate the festival site, please follow all directions and instructions as given by the security team and emergency staff.

No Pass outs (Leaving)
Sorry guys, once you are inside the festival grounds, you will need to stay there until you are ready to leave home. No pass outs will be given so please come prepared. There will be a bag drop area onsite for a small fee so you can bring in extra gear or a bag and leave it in a secured place until you need it.
