The Whalers Fundraiser – 15 January 2011
This festival was a fundraiser held for the Tauranga Whalers Rugby League Club and organised by BOP Breweries Ltd, Ara Entertainment Ltd and Tim Cooper.
More than 2,500 people came out to support the event which featured NZ top reggae bands Katchafire, House of Shem and 1814. It was a huge success for the region and led to the team who organised and put on the Kolohe Kai NZ and Australian tours, the Rebel Souljahz NZ Tours in 2011 and Exodus.
